Jonathan O. Tramer, M.D.
Dr. Jonathan Tramer earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, and his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He continued his training with an Internship and Residency in General Surgery at the Mt. Sinai Hospital of Cleveland, where he was appointed Chief Resident.
Board certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Tramer has been in practice at General Surgical Associates since 1976. He is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor in General Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Tramer is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, Texas Medical Association, General Surgical Society of San Antonio, Bexar County Medical Society and San Antonio Surgical Society. He regularly attends scientific meetings around the country to learn of the latest advances in the field, and has served as a presenter of his own work. Additionally, Dr. Tramer has repeatedly been named as a San Antonio Top Doctor in San Antonio Magazine and a Texas Super Doctor in Texas Monthly.
Dr. Tramer sees patients at our Medical Center location and routinely operates in multiple hospital systems and surgery centers in San Antonio.
