Douglas W. Robinson, Jr., M.D.
Dr. Douglas Robinson earned his Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin, and his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He continued his training with a Straight Surgical Internship at Bexar County Hospital in San Antonio and the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Robinson then went on to a General Surgery Residency in the Department of Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio University Hospital.
Board certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Robinson has been in practice with General Surgical Associates since 1979. In addition, he is an Adjunct Assistant Professor and a Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Robinson has previously served as Chief of Staff at Southwest Texas Methodist Hospital. He also has enjoyed giving his time by serving on on the Methodist Healthcare Ministries Board, the Methodist Governing Board and the Wesley Community Center Board. Dr Robinson is active in professional organizations as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Texas Medical Association, Texas Surgical Society, Bexar County Medical Society and South Texas Chapter of the American College of Surgeons, among others. He has also been previously been recognized as a Texas Super Doctor by Texas Monthly.
